How I test three intros before anything goes on Instagram
I record the video once, record three different openings to it, and let TikTok tell me which one to keep.
I used to record one intro, post it, and learn nothing when the video did not do well. There was no way to tell whether the idea was wrong or whether the first two seconds were. Both look identical from the outside.
So I stopped guessing and started testing the opening on a platform where being wrong is cheap.
What I do
- Record the body of the video once. That part does not change.
- Record three different intros to it.
- Post all three on TikTok, not Instagram.
- Wait a full day, then read engagement rather than views.
- Move only the one that performed to Instagram.
TikTok goes first because the audience there is not mine yet. If an intro does not work, I have spent nothing that matters. The same mistake on Instagram costs me reach with people who already follow me.
